Nancy G. La Vigne
Nancy G. La Vigne is a senior research associate at the Urban Institute in Washington, D.C. She directs several projects related to prisoner reentry, including a multi-state, longitudinal study of the reentry experience. Dr. La Vigne has extensive experience in criminal justice research, crime policy, and the legislative process and has published research in the areas of situational crime prevention, community policing, and geographic analysis of crime. She was the founding director of the National Institute of Justice?s Crime Mapping Research Center; research director for the Texas Punishment Standards Commission; and a consultant to the Police Executive Research Forum, the National Council on Crime and Delinquency, and the National Development and Research Institute. Dr. La Vigne holds a doctorate from Rutgers University and a master?s degree in public affairs from the University of Texas at Austin.
